How to Grow Your Leadership Influence — Part 3

Hello my friend, welcome to The Leadership Tip of the Week. Today is part 3 of your series about how to grow your leadership influence.

Leadership is about influence. It’s about the effect that you have on the way people in your team and in your organisation think and behave. If you want to improve the quality of your leadership, improve the strength of your influence. How do you do that?

We’ve seen in the previous two episodes that the first secret to grow your influence as a leader is to be authentic. Know who you are; Be who you are; and Share who you are. As Craig Groeschel says: “People would rather follow a leader who is always real than one who is always right.”

The second secret to grow your influence as a leader is to connect with others with your heart and through stories. Because facts fade but stories stick.

Today I will share with you the third secret that will help you grow your leadership influence. That is to bring transformation to people around you and to your organisation. Leadership matters. You matter. And there must a positive change in the lives of people around you and in your organisation because of you being around.

There are three levels of transformation that you must drive.

The first is to transform the vision of your team and of your organisation, so they can imagine a future beyond their accepted outlook;

The second is to transform their beliefs, so they take actions beyond their perceived capabilities;

And the third is to transform the performance of your team and of your organisation, so they realise achievements beyond expected results.

This was your Leadership Tip for this week: The three secrets to grow your leadership influence are:

Number 1: Be authentic. Know who you are; Be who you are; and Share who you are.

Number 2: Connect with others with your heart and through stories. Because facts fade but stories stick

Number 3: Bring transformation to people around you and to your organisation.
